During the years my sister and I lived in different countries, we have always dreamed of creating things together. Yes there was already internet, but it was nothing like all collaboration tools we have today. We used to draw on paper and fax it for instant reaction, lol!
When I move to the UK we were working on a sustainable micro-farm project, which was going to be our dwelling too. After several months of dreaming, meeting with the architects and putting together a farm-like business plan to sell our brilliant idea to the city council, we got a big fat no as the final decision. As sad as it sounds, we both realised we were feeling relieved instead. The commitment to turn the plot located in the greenbelt land into a lucrative agro-business was beyond a nice challenge for our aspirations and availability.
So, what’s next, then? Maybe a virtual space to share ideas, connect with like-minded people and put our imagination and creative into practice. The two of us have corporate jobs and very often have to ‘prune’ our creativity to fit into a more formal world. Here in this channel we simply want to be free and unleash our ideas. “Ok, so we are going to create a blog and link it to an instagram account and youtube channel.” But for all of that to happen we needed a name. Surprisingly, it took us a whole weekend to come up with a name that had not been taken already. When we exhausted all bright-but-obvious ideas we remembered a very happy halloween when we both dressed as twin aliens or Twinliens. We checked if the domain was available and bang: we got it!
